The Village Artisans of Port Republic, LLC (Village Artisans) was formed by two village artisans, Sally Smith and Tamara Gibson, to promote local artisans, give them a venue for their art and talents, and to motivate local artists to grow and share their creativity.

Quarterly artisan shows, held in the newly restored Port Republic Town Hall, will be an event that showcases local artisan’s diverse talents, stimulates all the senses, and guarantees a good time by all, it will help develop the current artistic culture of this area. Planned educational events for adults and children will give attendees a hands-on experience that will get them in touch with their own imagination and creativity, and grant them a greater understanding of the many different varieties of art.

While visiting an art show, guests can tour the Port Republic Museum, research local history, or stroll through the village while listening to an audio guide of the past. Port, as it is referred to by locals, is listed in the US National Registry of Historical Places and has a rich and colorful history.

Our vision is to watch Port Republic become an artistic haven rich in history and beauty that will keep the art and history alive for generations to come. This unique adventure is in line with the growth of eastern Rockingham County, Virginia, and will expand the economic growth of the Village and its residents.
